NATIONAL CHAIRMAN & PRESIDENT VISIT IOWA-NEBRASKA NAACP Convention & HONOR VETERANS (see newsletter below)
The Iowa-Nebraska NAACP State Area Conference is holding its Annual Convention on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 8 AM to 4 PM at the Fred Maytag II Scout Center located at 6123 Scout Trail, Des Moines Iowa. NAACP delegates, members and observers will gather to address issues at the forefront of our nation, both states and our local cities. Suggested donation is $25 for adults and $15 for youth and college attendees. Those interested in gaining the tools for effective advocacy should take advantage of the opportunity to be present.
This year’s convention will be especially historic as the Iowa-Nebraska Convention will be honored with a visit from both the NAACP National Chairman of the Board, Leon Russell and the newly named National NAACP President and CEO, Derrick Johnson. The chairman and president’s visit come as part of the NAACP Forward Listening Tour.
You also won’t want to miss the convention’s Freedom Fund Luncheon. Chairman Russell will keynote the convention’s Freedom Fund Luncheon, which will honor our country’s veterans.
